Children are encouraged to develop athletic skills that are fundamental to their early physical development. In addition, the exercises build cognitive and social skills, preparing them for the early learning goals.

Mini Athletics is the first of its kind. First and foremost, it is so much fun!

Our Team

Meet the Mini Athletics NNTN Team

My name is Taylor. I am the owner and head coach.

I'm from Australia and have an almost 4-year-old son whom I wanted to get involved in Athletics. However, when I looked into the athletics pathway in the UK, it is virtually non-existent for children under the age of 7 so I bought into a franchise to bring Mini Athletics to the Children of the North East.

Mini Athletics really does cater for every child. It brings out the best little version of themselves through being physically active in a social setting. They will learn fundamental skills like eye-hand coordination, teamwork and social skills. I am extremely passionate about Athletics and getting young children involved in Athletics as I did when I was young, as I know first-hand how great it is and the benefits that come from a non-specific sport.

I began with what we call in Australia 'Little Athletics' when I was 3 years old and I instantly loved it. It was a fun, social and for my parents energy-burning activity that brought me joy. So much so that I competed until I was 16 years old and became a national-level athlete.

I have a long history in sports being with Athletics, Basketball and Australian Football. I was lucky enough to become a professional athlete at AFLW. Now I'm a mum to a 4-year-old and I love being active with him.
