The first ever Mini Athlete

In this blog we are introducing the first ever Mini Athlete.....

This is Caolan and we are super proud of him. Caolan was key to the creation of Mini Athletics back in 2016 and he has been coming to classes ever since. But we are so sad because Caolan has now turned 8 and it is time for him to wave goodbye.….here are our co-founders to explain the rest….

“Firstly, we would like to introduce our son, Caolan. Back in 2016 (when he was 2 and before Mini Athletics existed) we were looking for a class for him to attend. We tried taking Caolan to football and rugby but they were not really for him. We wanted him to enjoy sport with other children (boys and girls) and have a magical, positive and imaginative experience. We wanted to take him to a class that had the potential to inspire him in order to continue sport throughout his life. We couldn’t find a class that did this for children. Therefore, we created Mini Athletics. Caolan really shaped the direction of Mini Athletics in terms of games, themes etc. We often tested some of the early games and structure on Caolan! He has been attending Mini Athletics for over 5 years (from the beginning). We need to thank the coaches he has had over this period - Coach Glen, Coach Josh, Coach Ryan, Coach Esther and Coach Rachel. We want to reserve a really special thank you to Hayley, franchisee for Mini Athletics Cambridge and Saffron Walden. She has been fantastic and provided such an amazing experience for Caolan. Thank you Hayley. Thank you to all the children that shared a class with Caolan. He made so many friends and he (and us) are so sad he has to go.” Clare and Kirk Bowyer
